South America Day 8: Quito to Mindo

No Comments on South America Day 8: Quito to Mindo

Today I departed Quito for a weekend trip to Mindo, a small town in the cloud forest. It’s a cute little town of hotels and small houses, with the fronts of the buildings finished to look nice for the tourists. It’s nice to be out of the bustle of Quito. There are birds chirping away all day and possibly all night. Even before venturing into the forest, there are so many colorful birds that we barely take interest.

The trip to Mindo for the weekend, organized through the school, cost $98 including transport, lodging, and food.  I didn’t technically leave the host family for the weekend, so that’s still added in for the night.
